Update: Zoonoses 2021 - International Symposium on Zoonoses Research

Due to the corona-pandemic to symposium will once again be held online. If you have attended our meeting last year, you already knew that we did our best to to bring the online experience as close as possible to a face-to-face meeting -  and this year we are going one step further.

What does that mean?

Scientific presentations from the community:

Last year we focused exclusively on a poster exhibition including a poster slam for young scientists. This year, all scientists can and may again submit abstracts - regardless of career status.
As with our face-to-face meeting, this year we will offer several parallel sessions via e.g. Zoom, in which the presentations will be held.
Please note: A panel of experts will review the submitted abstracts and decide about the admission to the presentation.

In addition to the possibility of lectures, the exhibition of a poster is also available for all scientists. Corresponding options for the form of presentation are available upon abstract submission.

Abstract submission is open until July, 14th 2021. You can submit an abstract on the following topics here.

Socialising:

Yes, we too miss the coffee breaks, lunches and dinners and the social, personal and scientific exchange that comes with them. And even though we unfortunately can't transfer the coffee to digital, this year we will offer a digital platform for all the conversations that otherwise happen in the e.g. buffet line (only without the queuing - how cool is that?).
We're still working out the details here, so look forward to more information in one of our next emails.

Of course we keep the chat function at the posters from last year, so you could ask your questions to the poster creators there.

Election of the Internal Advisory Board

Unfortunately, the election had to be cancelled last year and the term of office of the incumbent advisory board members was extended. This year we have the technical capabilities to hold an election.
Please consider already if you would like to run for office yourself (of course you would have to be a member of the platform). You will receive more information in one of the next mails.

We are sure that these innovations / enhancements in combination with the features from last year (Poster Slam e.g.) and the top-class keynotes will make this year's symposium a full success as well!
